This is my 8th Income Report in which I detail how much money I made online this month.
These reports are designed to show you that it is possible to make money online. I also want to use them to give myself motivation to meet targets, describe new challenges and achievements. Every month I’ll post reports of my google analytics, income stats and more.
The first income report of 2017 is here! This month I have relocated to the south of France for a while so I’ve had to do a lot of travelling again and getting settled. I am situated in the heart of Montpellier, in the middle of a busy city. It’s very different to Paris (where I previously lived); Montpellier is known as a student type city due to all the universities that are here and I’ve definitely noticed it.
I got settled back into work around 10th January so it took a little while to get this year started. My main focus was getting a new Titan update completed, which I managed to do. Version 1.3 is now live and it comes with lots of improvements that build upon the project management system‘s features. My plan with Titan is to now gather more feedback and prepare for a new update in the Spring time. Sales for it are still going really well; it recently entered the top selling PHP scripts of the week.
My targets for this year were to make x amount of products and so I have been thinking of some new ones to build. One of those was the Status Checker. This product took me less than two weeks to build so I’m really happy with how it turned out. My workflow in producing and programming for CodeCanyon is getting better and better and it definitely allows me to get out lots more updates and products than before. The product is now on CodeCanyon with a modest 4 sales to start it off, which is about the average amount of money I hope to have each product selling a month ($50).
Since I finished that product very quickly, my next target was to revamp Pro Polls. Pro Polls was a product I made last year before I began working full-time on Envato. It needed to have lots of it’s basic features revamped (such as adding in User Roles and Datatables). I updated the layout and graphics for it too.
The update isn’t live on CodeCanyon as of writing thisIt is now live on CodeCanyon, so I’ll have to report to you next time to see if the update helped increase it’s sales.
I’ve also been blogging a bit more this month. I managed to put out three new articles on using CodeIgniter with Datatables. I’ve been using Datatables library in my products and so I thought it would be great to write a couple of tutorials on them. My next tutorial in this series will show you how to sort with Datatables.
I looked into my google console this month to see what pages on my site are ranking for hits. I noticed that a page I created ages ago was getting a lot of attention: How to buy Photoshop without creative cloud subscription. Since it’s been getting lots of hits, I’m going to write a few new articles to do with Photoshop for February to help link the content together and improve SEO.
I hope to be looking for more long-tail keywords that I can target. I’ve got a few more tutorials I’ll be working on over the next few months that should also help.
Another amazing month. Earning over $2,000 is one of my goals this year; I’ve gone from earning just over $600 to $2000 per month in less than 4 months. My personal target for the end of the year is to be constantly earning $2,000 a month.
I did a few small freelance jobs this month that netted me $180.00 too. I don’t mind taking on small jobs since I can usually do them in my lunch break. I’ve been trying to offer installation services to my customers too but so far no bites.
The huge % increase in CodeCanyon sales just shows you how volatile earning on markets can be. One month you can earn amazing amounts and others can be really slow. Over the course of the year, hopefully these highs and lows even out.
Visitors to the blog were also at an all-time high. I managed to finally block all that rubbish spam I was getting too so this months figures are accurate. Over 60% of my traffic is coming from organic search, which is amazing since I’ve barely done any SEO work. I’ll be trying to increase this amount over this year with new blog posts targeting long-tail keywords.
I missed the first 10 days of this month due to travelling and getting setup again. I did manage to get all I wanted to do this month, but I do feel like I could have pushed myself to work even harder. I want to be constantly hitting 100+ hours a week.
I use my project management system – Titan for tracking my time.
As I move into February the focus will be a brand new product. I’m keeping it under wraps at the moment but it’s going to be one that I expect to be working on all month. I’ll release more information on it at a later date.
I’ll also be making a new update to the Support Centre product. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback over version 2.0.1 and the next version will fix the reported bugs and improve certain aspects.
I have been doing some work on my Niche Case study with a bit more progress. I haven’t got any real results to show just yet, but when I do I’ll definitely make another update to it. I’m doing a few hours a week on the project so I hope to one day show it actually working!
I hope to have a really busy work month and getting my hours to over 100. I don’t have too many distractions apart from Valentines Day and my birthday so I shouldn’t be losing hours to travelling and things like that.
At the end of each income report, I’m now going to start sharing a bit of information about what I’m currently up to.
