How to Improve Your Blog When You're Exhausted

Are you building a blog? If so, I'm sure you have experienced those times when you are just plain exhausted and have no motivation to work on your blog. You've probably experienced those hectic days where you just don't have enough time to get everything done and you spread yourself too thin. I have definitely been there, and I have had to really fight to devote time to improving my blog even when I feel that I have no energy to do so.

In this post, I have compiled some blog tasks that you can work on when you are feeling exhausted. All of these tasks I personally find enjoyable, and easy to accomplish when I am yawning at my computer screen. Hopefully, you will see a task(s) that you can easily do on those days where life just gets too busy.

Networking

I think networking with other bloggers is something that a lot of people don't think about doing. Networking is so important because you get to learn from other bloggers, and meet your potential readers. This can impact your growth immensely when you start commenting on other blogs and interacting with their writers. This is also a very easy, laid-back, and fun thing to do when you are just too exhausted to contemplate working on any other tasks.

Brainstorming

No idea is a bad idea! Some of my best ideas have come to me when I’ve been drowsy, driving, or just relaxing. It is really important to always be writing down your ideas, even when you are tired. This way you keep fresh content in the top of your mind, and can give readers what they truly want.

Outlining

I found that I prefer to outline my posts before I write them. For me this means I come up with a temporary title of a post and write down every idea I have that could be discussed in that post. Then you tweak your outline to make it look like something that others would want to read. I enjoy doing this at the end of a long day, because it allows me to still feel productive even if I haven’t gotten my content completely post ready yet.

Pinning on Pinterest

I am so addicted to Pinterest! How much easier can life be when you can just click and save all the ideas just waiting to be found on this fantastic social media site? This is a great way to build a following and to add content to your profile that readers could be interested in!

Social Media

Similar to using Pinterest, you can really use any social media account when you’re feeling drowsy to still have a somewhat productive day. Interact with your followers, and spend time tweaking your profiles to make them better. I always find this to be a fun activity when I don’t feel like working on anything else.

Finding Pictures

This is another one of those easy tasks that can be done no matter how tired you are feeling. Just make sure you are finding high-quality pictures that you have a right to share, modify, and use. Pixabay is a great website where I find a lot of my pictures, but there are plenty of others out there.

Comments

Making time to read and respond to reader’s comments is incredibly important. You are trying to build a following and engaging with your readers is a huge way you can do that. It’s also important to filter through the numerous spam comments you will get, and believe me there will be a ton even when your blog doesn’t have a huge following yet.

Organize documents

Staying organized is key to being successful. Organizing your files, pictures, and posts is an easy task that doesn’t take up too much time and that doesn’t require much brain power, making this another perfect task to do when you are exhausted or unmotivated.

I hope you found this post helpful! I personally find that all of these tasks are easy to work on when I am lacking energy or mental brain power. Just make sure you find tasks that are simple but also enjoyable to you. When you work on tasks you enjoy, you are more likely to finish them.
